To see what size shoe you need you need to have your foot measured by a sales clerk at a local shoe store when you are buying shoes. Some people might have a foot that is bigger than the other so they have to buy two separate shoes for the cost of both. Sometimes shoes that you wear are a size 12 but in other sizes may be a size 10 this is just because of the different style in the shoes. Shoes will most likely differ in size and shape from different brands to brands.
Each country has its own way of foot measurements. These include the millimeter (mm), the centimeter (cm, which equals 10 mm), the Paris point, which equals 2/3 cm, which in turn equals 6.67 mm, and lastly, the Barleycorn, which equals 1/3 inch and according to the metric system is 8.47 mm. In the U K and Australia shoe size is determined by the length of the portion of the shoe called the last, which is measured in barleycorns but minus a constant. The same constant is used for men in these countries but different ones are used for women's shoes.
In the United States and Canada the shoe size is that as we know of it. So we do not wear the same size as women and children I don't think anyone ever did. In the United States women's feet are measured by FIA, which is why there is so much difference than a men's size 11 from a women's size 12.
A woman might shop in the men's area of the shoe store for obvious reasons. Maybe she is looking for a shoe that she cannot find anywhere else and this store only carries the type of shoe in men's so she has to settle with that or she has a big foot and no women's shoes will fit her feet. A lot of people like to stay with brand names and will stick with them every time they buy shoes. Most of the time why a person buys shoes is how it feels on there feet. You should buy a pair of shoes that will feel good on your feet instead of buying a pair of shoes that you want that's out of stock. Don't buy a pair of shoes with your feet at the tip buy shoes that you have room to grow in.
So go out and get a good pair of shoes today, a pair that not only fits but feels good on your feet as well. Don't buy a pair of shoes just for the looks of them buy them for the feeling you get when you put them on your feet.
