A hurricane can or will cause water to go up on land and flood whatever town or cities it is near. The winds from the hurricane will cause damage, sometimes up to millions of dollars worth in damage. It can take months to even years to fix. Water can rise in minutes or hours depending on how bad it is going to be and when the wind and the rain get stronger, the hurricane will hit very hard and a lot of damage will be done. Houses can be torn down and the pieces can be everywhere because the water can spread it everywhere.
It will flood houses, causing damage inside and out, and it will cause water damage to set in. This will make your house or building unsafe. You will not be allowed to go in them until they are checked out thoroughly and if there are a lot of dangers, you will not be allow to go in at all. Floods can or will cause things to get in your house: things that are nasty and dangerous to have in there. They will also soak in everything. The wind from the hurricane will be very strong, and it can knock down light poles and power lines, which are very dangerous because it can pull electrical currents through the water.
That can kill you or injure you really bad. It can also lift up vehicles and move them through the water, which can make them knock down things or hit things. The flood will have debris in it, and those things can get in your house. The debris can be parts of houses, trees, trash, toys, and many other things along with those. The water from the flood traps people on the tops of their roofs, vehicles, buildings, and many other places the people can get to get away from the water so they will not get taken with the water. The water can contain dangerous chemicals, such as gas, oil, electrical currents, and many other dangerous and terrifying things.
A hurricane can move 75 to up to 200 miles and hour, and the wind is so strong that it will cause the water to create huge waves that are very dangerous. Did you know that a hurricane can be 600 miles across and the water that evaporates from the ocean will make it strong every minute? A hurricane can cause tornadoes, very high winds, lots of rain, things flying in the air, and it can cause mud slides. You have to watch out for mudslides because that it very dangerous and it can kill you or injure you really badly.
