Initially planned as a means of communication, Twitter, one of the world’s best social networking sites, has become a key method for doing business. This is a universally accepted truth that’s why no one is surprised (only with some exceptions) at the fact that social networks can also be a means of making money. What I want to draw your attention to is the simple question, “How many of Twitter users tweet for pleasure and how many of them tweet just for fun. Or maybe they combine these two unconnectable notions.?”

Media Post reports that 56 percent of Twitter users are engaging in business purposes. This statistic, courtesy of social media expert Rodney Rumford, is based on a survey of 700 Twitter users. I myself can announce with a great sense of responsibility that Twitter indeed can be the pledge of your success as far as your business is concerned. If someone has any doubts I’ll advise him not to forget that a great deal of celebrities as well as politicians have accounts on Twitter. I don’t think someone supposes that Obama, for example, doesn’t have other more important activities than to tweet on Twitter. It is obvious that Obama (and not only he) uses Twitter for business purposes as it is beyond any discussion that he is capable of finding other much more interesting sources for entertainment. This micro – blogging site creates prerequisites for your and your product visibility throughout the Internet so it becomes very easy to be noticed by your customers.
In my opinion people who are tweeting just for pleasure are those who have much spare time and no other activities to get busy with. These are in most cases teenagers and children who do not imagine their lives without Social networks and register in each of them. They prefer to spend time on communication via Internet rather than to do their direct responsibilities (studying).
Some people actually have two (or sometimes more) Twitter accounts – one that’s purely for business and one that’s purely for social. This is a very witty method to utilize the utmost of Twitter, that is both its business and pleasure opportunities.
