The reality is that every tattoo parlor is different in terms of its ambience, and also regarding the tattoo artists that work there.
The first thing that a tattoo parlor should be is clean, with clear evidence of the proper hygiene being used to administer the tattoos. This means that the tattoo artists wear latex gloves while tattooing, and also that they change the needle in their tattooing equipment with each new client. Also, most tattoo artists have portfolios of their work, which indicate what kinds of styles that they work in.
When the person has found the tattoo parlor that they would like to go to, the next step should be scheduling a consultation with the chosen tattoo artist. During this consultation, the person will discuss any ideas that they might have for their tattoo. The artist will listen to those ideas, as well as incorporate any drawings that the person might have brought in, to an overall tattoo design.
Some artists might be able to do the tattoo the same day as the consultation, while others might request that the person make an additional appointment. Regardless, the final step in the tattoo process is, of course, getting the actual tattoo. The client will sit or lay down (depending on what kind of tattoo they are getting) while the artist uses an electric needle to administer the tattoo.
The electric needle injects the ink into the upper layers of the skin, where the tattoo ink will then bond with the skin molecules. When the tattoo is completed, a sterile bandage will be wrapped around it, and the artist will give instructions on how to keep the area moisturized and out of the sun.
