There is an inconceivable amount of reasons that can be responsible for the breakup of two individuals. These reasons, for example, could be from the loss of feelings for someone, to possibly an act made by one half of the relationship. But regardless of all of the reasons that cause people to split apart, there is still plenty of ways that can bring the two back together.
The first step is to accept the break up between you and your ex. This doesn't mean you have to completely let go, but you must make your ex believe that you are. The last thing that you want to do right now is come across as desperate. Desperation is your biggest enemy; your man will interpret that as meaning you will wait around forever for your ex, and that your ex is completely in control.
You need to get back some of the control and get your ex to start thinking about you. The best way to do that is to stop allowing your ex to know what you are thinking. Allow your ex to create his own thoughts and second guess himself about what you are doing.
Be mysterious and unavailable to your ex; do not drop everything for your ex when your ex asks you for something or to go somewhere. Don't talk to his friends and family about how much you want your ex back. Make sure your ex has no access to what is going on in your life. Creating this aura of mysticism will make you much more attractive to your ex. You could even enhance this process by dieting and working out regularly. Hit your ex with everything you've got. A good thing about all of this is that if it still doesn't work out between you and your ex, then you will at least be positioned emotionally and physically to start dating again. Confidence comes from within and it's something you can't fake, and with the effort you've put into yourself, you can easily find happiness with someone else.
After a decent period of time, when you can tell that your ex is more than comfortable with you, ask your ex out for dinner, or to go do something nice that you wouldn't normally ask anyone. During this time you can begin to hint that your feelings are more than friendship, and towards the end of the date or a little while afterward, you can make your move to asking your ex to date once more.
