What is the usual success rate 10%, 20%, or 30% when you try to snag joint venture partners using different methods? is there any way to pick the best joint ventures or is it just a luck of the draw?
Answer: You should go to seminars in your niche because there will be people at the seminar who you can network with and obtain joint ventures.
Build a relationship and communicate with these people. Use the break and meal times to talk with these people. Make a point to go out of your way to network with the other seminar attendees and speakers. You can't be a wallflower if you want to create joint ventures. You have to put yourself out there and make a connection. Do not be afraid to go around and talk to all of the other attendees of the seminar because this is your chance to be meet other people in your niche.
I go to seminars for two reasons: to speak and find joint venture partners. I find most of my joint venture partners at the bar during the seminar breaks. It is easier to network when we have dinner or go to the bar. The less formal setting enables people to really get to know each other in a more comfortable atmosphere. I joke that I prime potential joint venture partners with a free beer.
What if you don't have the financial means or time to attend seminars? Don't worry; you are not going to be left out in the cold. Another way to find joint venture partners is to do a search online. Let's say your niche is health. Then search in Google for "Health newsletter", "Health e-zine", "Health e-course", "Health list", etc. and see what pops up.
You will find people that have newsletters, lists, e-courses, etc. in your niche. Find out who owns these lists and contact them. You can find their information on their website. You can email or call them. Be aware that the success rate by doing just this one strategy alone is low.
However, if you sign up for their newsletter and buy one of their products then your chances for joint venture success increase significantly. Follow their newsletter for a few months. Then when you can contact them you can say how much you enjoy their newsletter and product. Explain that you are in the same niche and good do a possible joint venture together. You come from a stronger position because you are already invested in the success of that person.
Remember, a joint venture partnership is different than an affiliate relationship. A joint venture partnership is to build a relationship with the partner. Once you have rapport with people, your percentage of success is going to be very high.
