Is it better to write a short article and increase its size or to write whatever comes out and reducing it to 800 words?
An 800 word article is long. Although article marketer will make you have 700-800 words of content. The minimum word count at ezinearticles 250. In general, articles you use for article marketing should be 350-500 words in length and cover a slice of your expertise.
However, let's say you have a 1,000 word article with two links in it that point back to your squeeze page. Not only is this article too long, it only contains two links. The more links you have pointing back to your website, the better.
So break this 1,000 word article into three articles that each has two links in the article. This gives you a total of 6 links that point back to your page. You've just tripled the number of links pointing back to your squeeze page and you didn't have to write any new content!
But don't put the 1,000 word version in the trash. Instead, use the 1,000 word version for other products such as an eBook. It's all about reformatting and repurposing content.
Tip: Never delete content even if you cut it up into shorter chunks. Turn the longer content into another product.
Question #2: How often should we submit fresh, new articles to article directories? Is there a less time consuming way to submit them to article directories such as using Autoresponders?
When you first start out, you may only write and submit one article per month. The key is to just start submitting articles. If you are going to be serious about driving your traffic and building your business then you should submit one article per week. Your goal should be many articles per week, even an article per day.
Tip: Remember this saying, An article a day keeps recession away!
It's all about getting new content out there every day. Every time a new article is posted you will get a spike in your views and click throughs. The traffic will taper off and the article will then become an evergreen for you.
