As we all know we are in the midst of a huge financial credit crunch, there are companies dropping left, right and centre. Even the biggest of companies are not escaping the wrath of the economic downturn, in fact the big companies are probably suffering more than the smaller ones..
The worst affected are probably banks, the head of banks and directors are now facing a wrath of questions from MPs as to why the economy and the banks in question have crashed so badly, another aspect that is being brought up is the huge amount of wages that the head of the companies are getting including there millions of pounds in bonuses, which is just simply an ridiculous amount of money.
But as companies crash it is not just the big bosses that are losing out, the rate of unemployment has risen to an extraordinary level, probably the worst it has been for over a decade. As the BBC stated, the jobless number climbed 146,000 for the three-month period, information from the Office for National Statistics showed.
For December, the number of those getting jobseeker's allowance added 73,800 to reach 1.23 million.
The internationally recognised unemployment rate reached 6.3%, the highest since 1998, in a further sign of the weakening economy.
People are being let go in there jobs and having to go onto benefits to survive. So what is it that people can do to get back into a working environment? Let's take a brief look:
1) Have a look at the sector that you have been working in, most sectors during the credit crunch are really not going to survive, so if you feel as though your in a dead end career try looking for a new path.
2) Try and get into a rewarding career, the credit crunch is set to filter out a lot of under achievers and the economy will come back a lot stronger than before. If you don't have a family to look after try getting into an apprenticeship.
3) Most people get quite depressed when being made redundant, especially if they have been in there jobs for a very long time. Therefore I suggest that you look at this as a fresh start and move your career forwards.
So summing up although the credit crunch may look and feel like a bad situation, it could be a chance to further develop your career in a new found industry that you are passionate about.
