There are so many great programs available on television to watch these days. You can choose from cooking shows, dramas, comedies, and one of the most watched kind of shows are those that show dumb and daring stunts. As entertaining as they are for most people, it is difficult to understand why some of these people do what they do. Seeking adventure is one thing, but sheer stupidity is another all together.
There have always been daredevils in the world. It could be said that onlookers thought the very same thing about the Wright Brothers as they tried to make that first airplane flight. Now we are all glad they did because we are able to fly anywhere in the world because of them and others that pursued flight in their outrageous machines. These guys were not being dare devils just for the sake of risking their lives, they were actually trying to invent a something that would be beneficial to mankind.
Most thrill seekers are after nothing more than the quick rush of adrenaline that comes from doing something extremely risky. Speed boat racers fly down a body of water at tremendous speeds. They might be exciting to watch as they do this, but there have been numerous crashes and deaths as a direct result of their daring. Harry Houdini made famous the water tank tricks that he died trying to perform. You would think anyone would be scared to death to be locked inside a tank of water with only a minute until to get out before death.
Sky divers, para sailors, and airplane stunt pilots are always looking for more and more dangerous tricks to do. There was one guy who tried to para sail his way into one side of an airplane hanger and circle inside to come out the other. He miscalculated his turn and slammed down onto the hard concrete floor of the hanger at a high speed. Fortunately for him, he did not die, but he did end up breaking his hip seven places and now has thirty some odd screws and pins holding it together. The last that was heard, he continues his stunts.
Stunts that are done using vehicle are definitely the most popular. Cars, monster trucks, and motorcycles are common machines for adrenaline rush junkies. They go through fire, roll over things, jump over things, and do their best to make the speeds as much as possible. Who knows why they want to risk their lives in such a way for a few seconds of fame and excitement. It makes you wonder really whether all of these people are brave and exciting or just plain dumb.
