One of the most important things a student can do while in school is to find an internship that gives them real world experience before they graduate. Not all students take advantage of this opportunity, so the ones that do often end up well positioned to stand at an advantage when they hit the job market after graduation. Working in an internship will help students learn many new skills and have experiences that will help them in the interview process and later when they begin their new job and embark on the start of their career.

Leadership is something that all employers look for, so having a college internship that allows students to develop their leadership ability while still in college will be a major advantage for the student. They will be able to demonstrate their leadership to the interviewer by sharing their experiences and providing real life situations in which they had to be leaders.
Being able to sit down and speak about these experiences will be a big help to the student as they steer through the job market and job-hunting phase. Employers will love to see students that have gone through a college internship, as they may be a break from the monotony that many students create.
