Cosmetic surgery is one thing which is now a very quick thing to get beautiful. There are more and more folks who are jumping the fray and trying to get surgery to enhance their looks. This is because of the fact that these are either not happy with their looks or because they are influenced by the celebrities that they love to emulate.
This trend has in fact thrown up a lot of challenges because of the fact that people go in for surgery with some unrealistic assumptions about the outcome. Most people think that they will look absolutely stunning and when that does not happen then they fell depressed.
The main onus is on the patient as well as the doctor to sort this out. The first and the foremost thing that should happen is that the doctor should take detailed notes on the patient and the patient history. Based on the answers he should then set out to set realistic expectation for the patient. He should be honest enough to suggest what is possible or what is not possible. If he feels that the patient is not faring well in terms of realistic expectations then he should be able to contact a psychologist and have the patient do a few sittings with him.
This is essential if the need is to get the results for the surgery correct. Also if your doctor is not saying anything to you then do not assume and ask. The sole reason being that if you do not ask then it will be a problem not only for you but for the doctor also.
The other main thing is that always ask for references with the doctor as that will help you a great deal in getting yourself treated well and hopefully you will be able to get honest feedback about the surgeon.
There have been cases where the doctors have not been able to handle the complications well and that have affected the patients much more badly than the surgeons. The surgeons have been sued also for the surgeries. All this can be avoided if you use a bit of due diligence.
