When a flood comes it usually causes panic, water damage, mold damage, property damages, and much more. The water from a natural disaster flood can cause chemicals to get in your house and damage it and your things. When floods come from hurricanes or heavy rain fall, it brings strong winds, sometimes tornadoes, and flash floods. It can knock down houses, other buildings, poles, trees, and so on. Homes and businesses get destroyed and people can be homeless with no where to work.
A lot of times people see their homes get torn down from the flood and get swooped down a river of water. People get affected by floods every year somewhere and there is nothing anyone can do about it. Debris can be everywhere in the water and it is very dangerous when people are in the path. The force of the water can rip trees out of the ground or cause them to band like a twig. It can leave cities and towns under water for a long time and people have to use boats just to get from place to place.
Floods can also come from a dam breaking and the pressure of the water could tear down everything in sight. The walls of floods can reach 50 feet high or more leaving every under and surrounded by water. Floods can bring million to billions of gallons of water after it is done and cause millions of dollars in damages. It can take weeks to months for the water to recede so people can begin fixing their homes and businesses when it is even possible to repair them. Even getting to their homes can be difficult when the flood washes away roads and bridges.
Floods can take people lives or cause serious injures to the inside and outside of the body. It can take years for people to get back to the way they were and some people can not because there lives are too damaged. Floods can cause illnesses when they are exposed to the bacteria filled sewage waste that can be in natural disaster flood waters. These kinds of floods can have toxic materials in them as well that can cause illness and diseases that might not show up in a person until much later.
When there is widespread flooding like there was when Hurricane Katrina swept through the Southern United States, it can cause tremendous devastation that can entire communities years to recover from and some just never do.
