Scientists Get a Step Closer to Mind Reading

The best example of what this article is about is the movie Minority Report which stars Tom Cruise. If you have ever watched the film it is based in 2054, John Anderton (Tom Cruise) is a member of the Washington, D.C. Precrime police force. They basically use precogs who are humans that have precognition abilities to stop murders. The film was a hugely successful science fiction movie and it went on to generate millions of pounds worth of revenue.

But it may not be science fiction for much longer as scientists have just recently announced that they are a step closer to mapping people's brains. At the moment they can track an individual's movement around a computer simulated room by simply watching the way their brain lights up.

The people that were used for tests were basically put into a virtual room and scientists could actually pin point their location simply by seeing scans of their brain. Scientists have said that Minority report like precogs could only be about 10 years away. So could this be true?

In my opinion yes it could absolutely be the thing of the future, technology is developing at great speeds. I mean look at how long humans have been alive, millions of years but only now in the last say 80 years has technology been around. I mean playing a computer game now a day's keeps you entertained but that is going to develop so much more. In a few years we are actually going to be plugged into computers, put on a headset that will send images through to our brain. So what ever we are thinking will come out in that scenario. It will be a virtual reality world, now would that not be something truly amazing?

I mean everything is going to change in 10 years time we will be heavily reliant on technology, we will probably have space crafts landing on mars and further afield and we will ultimately have a new crime force that can in fact stop crime from happening before it actually ends up occurring. The brain is one of the most powerful tools in the world and possibly the galaxy and scientists still have not uncovered even half of it. We only use a small percentage of our brain at the moment so maybe by tapping into other sections there will be endless possibilities make available in this planet.
