Why do people decide to get body art? People from many different backgrounds make such a decision for many different reasons. One of the main reasons is to honor a certain aspect of their life or their personality. For example, if a person is in a relationship that they feel very confident about, they might get body art that features the name of their significant other.
However, sometimes relationships do not work out, and this is when the subject of tatoo removal usually comes up. It is important to note that because so many people have gotten rid of tattoos that had to do with relationships, there are many tattoo artists who will no longer do those kinds of tattoos.
People also choose tatoo removal in the case of tattoos that they were very serious about getting (like, for example, a person who loves gardening might get a flower tattoo). When a person decides to get a tattoo, they might bring a sketch into the tattoo shop, but the tattoo artist will also incorporate his or her own style into the tattoo.
Although most tattoo artists will make a sketch and have the client approve the tattoo beforehand, sometimes when the tattoo is actually applied it does not look the way that the client wanted it to look. In addition to actually having the tattoo removed, the person might decide to have a new tattoo placed over the old one.
Then again, some people just want to have clear skin again where the tattoo currently is. So, they have two main tatoo removal options. The first option involves a chemical substance that is known as TCA. This chemical is clear and resembles water. Although TCA should only be obtained from a dermatologist, there is an aspect of this removal method that is a bit controversial.
Specifically, this removal method is done at home by the person him or herself. The person will need to clean the tattooed area, then gently apply the TCA to the area with a q tip. The TCA is meant to permeate the upper layers of the skin and break apart the skin molecules that have bonded to the tattoo ink. This process can only be done once every few weeks, and it will be very important for the person to follow all the directions so that he or she prevents scarring from happening.
The other method of tatoo removal involves using lasers to gradually erase the tattoo. The light of the laser stimulates more blood to flow to the treated area. This additional flow of blood stimulates healthy skin tissue, which in turn replaces the skin tissue that was damages by the tattoo.
Something that people should keep in mind when it comes to erasing tattoos is that the amount of treatment sessions that will be needed for either removal method depends on the size of the tattoo. The color of the tattoo ink (darker takes longer) is the other thing that will affect the amount of removal sessions.
