I do not know how many times I have read articles on how to get rid of sagging skin under my chin and neck. I never liked them. I was feeling exasperated then until I tumbled upon valuable information which I am going to share with you here now.
Most women begin to develop loose skin under their chins and necks around middle adult life. Some men, especially older and more obese ones, are also prone to developing this skin condition.
Your chins tend to develop double layers. This condition is more popularly called as double chin. Those that develop around your lower necks are commonly called as turkey necks. Actually, these descriptive words are interchangeable but they refer to the same condition.
Collagen loss
Sagging skin on your chin and neck is primarily caused by massive loss of collagen beneath the dermal layers. Natural aging process, whether you like it or not, contributes largely to said loss. Honestly, there is nothing you can do to stop your body from aging. However, there are much things you can do to prevent or minimize the signs of aging.
Collagen is naturally produced by the body itself, together with elastin, among others. Notably, collagen and elastin combine to produce collagen bundles. These are the ones particularly responsible in making the skin firm and elastic. When the dermal layers suffer from gradual loss of collagen bundles, they begin to be less compact and weak.
Weakened skin could no longer hold back the weight of the fatty tissues within the various dermal layers. Increased fat content due to obesity and the constant pull of gravity downwards further exacerbate the problem. This is when the ugly double or turkey chin and neck begin to appear.
Do not feel hopeless though. This article was not written to create that impression. We all want smooth, glowing and elastic skin. And we will never be able to fight further skin deterioration unless we do something that will permanently and more effectively treat it.
Just few things to remember
At this point, I have clearly shown two important things. One, collagen is naturally produced by the body. And, two, collagen loss leads to sagging skin. Simple logic and common sense, therefore, dictate that all you need to do is just help your body produce more collagen. There is actually no need for expensive surgeries and injections.
Be sure to do this very seriously. Find any skin care product that contains natural substance long known to enhance collagen production, such as Cynergy TK, Phytessence Wakame and Coenzyme Q10. You can do your own research to find out more about them but, believe me, these indeed worked for me!
