Today, a lot of people who want to get an internet business going are beginning with PTCs -- Pay to Click websites. That is exactly what I set out to do. But before I proceed, in the event that you don't have a clue as to how these websites work, allow me to explain further. A PTC website is a site where you are paid a very small amount of money for clicking on and watching an ad for a determined amount of time (normally half a minute). Each time you view a complete advertisement (they usually last roughly 30 seconds), a little cash is placed into your account, which can only be withdrawn once you've accumulated a specified sum, oftentimes in the $5 range. Likewise, Pay-to-Click websites oftentimes have some additional options for those who are members, and nearly all have referral incentives.
You buy referrals (or you can recruit them), and you get roughly 50% of the cash they make from clicking ads. Hence, if you get one cent from viewing an ad, you'll get half a cent from PTC members you referred. It seems like kind of a slow way to go, but imagine what will happen if you have scores of people joining through your referral link. Some of these Pay-to-Click programs also provide a few special options to their members, allowing for more cash per click (often for your referrals as well as yourself), more ads and more referrals. Although you could make a bit more cash with one of the enhanced plans, they mostly cost a a lot up front, so take caution.
Now let's say you join a Pay-to-Click and it has 4 ads. You buy a membership and you obtain one thousand referrals. You get a cent for each click, as do your referrals. Hence, if you watch all four advertisements and all of your referrals click on all 4 ads, that's a sum of forty bucks. Appears pretty awesome, doesn't it? That would be a decent amount to generate per day, doesn't it?
The reality is, almost all Pay-to-Click sites are nothing but frauds. They are actually pyramid schemes. They are known as "pyramids" because just those people at or near the top get any cash, while those who are lower down ordinarily end up getting nada. Hence, if 10 people invest $10 each, that sums up to a hundred bucks. The top person may return 15 bucks to only 4 people and keep the rest for himself, with nothing disbursed to all the rest of the members. How they can get off with this is by enticing us to join as members and to buy referrals (which, incidentally, are often bots, not actual people), then paying us cash that others invest to pay for their own membership and subsequent referrals. The cash from advertisements does not cover their payout's, especially since a lot of the referrals you can pay for are not real people. Eventually, folks stop investing in the Pay-to-Click site and the last individuals to invest won't see their money again. If you are one of the ones at the top, in from the beginning, there's a chance of seeing some money, but it is not balanced by the risks.
Personally, I would urge avoiding Pay-to-Click websites, because the genuine ones are going to generate you very little money and the PTC sites that generate big money are typically scams, resulting in someone losing out.
