The desperate need for carbon solutions is only growing ever more apparent, since the 1980's speculation about global warming has been in the news and yet it is only now that attitudes are changing in a desperate attempt to correct the problem as much as possible before it is too late.
There is now global need for all the super powers to combine forces in this matter to save our planet for future generations to enjoy, making extreme reductions in carbon emissions by the year 2050. The attitude now not asking why global warming is happening, but more about focusing on when it will happen, such as when, the polar ice caps will completely melt if we continue without implementing viable carbon solutions.
Ok, we might think it is now down to major organisations to solve the problem at hand; after all it is industry's fault that we are in this mess in the first place. Deforestation, transportation, the over usage of natural fuels exhausting supplies, carbon emissions not being monitored competently enough, the damage is already done, but this attitude only lands us further in the mire.
We can all do our bit in the fight against global warming; implementing our own domestic carbon solution programmes is the best way to do our bit towards saving the environment. We have all seen the advertisements about recycling and reducing, carbon footprint but how many of us are really pro active in implementing these changes in our own homes.
Everyone should be enforced to recycle waste, glasses, tins, bottles, cardboard and paper to be reused rather than using new resources, this then would reduce waste going into landfills sites, it would also reduce the amount of waste which isn't bio degradable. If all appliances and lights were to be switched off at the mains when not in use this would save considerable amounts of energy. Installing the proper insulation in homes, double glazing, loft insulation, this again saves energy. If people lift shared or took public transport this would then cut down on fuels being used and carbon emissions in the atmosphere, better still if you can walk or cycle, do these!
We may look at these changes and think, well that is ok but I can't see it making a difference, this is where the combined effort makes the changes. One person can make a difference if added to more people who are taking steps to make a difference too; did you know that 25 percent of global carbon emissions come from transportation alone? By leaving your car at home, you are actually making a difference. Not only this, but in most cases introducing carbon solutions into your own home environment, is going to save you money! There is no excuse.
Industry has set targets of drastically reducing carbon emissions by 2020, this however is only the first step in an ongoing carbon solutions programme which will, as times go by become ever more apparent. Lessening our dependency on carbon fuels introducing bio fuels, wind farms, solar energy has already increased, tiny steps forwards, but surely everyone now has the responsibility to join in the carbon solutions race before the unthinkable happens.
