It takes many years of smoking to finely face the facts about what cigarettes have done to your health and the amount of money that you could have saved over the years. These are two things that smokers really do not want to look at very closely. Over the years we get so involved with our everyday lives that we do take the time to see how cigarettes has effected your health, your future, and your retirement if you even get to have one.
Smoking cigarettes for many years will no doubt effect the quality of life that you lead. After using cigarettes for years, the activities you once were able to enjoy, will become tougher when you have no oxygen to breathe with anymore. The health issues that you will face in your later years of life will be numerous from the long time affects of smoking. Some people that are trying to quit or have already quit smoking cigarettes, stand a much better chance of having their body heal somewhat because they stopped.
When smokers buy a pack or a carton of cigarettes they never stop to think about how much they are spending at the time, they just want to light up never realizing what amount they actually spent.
The amount of money that a smoker is spending at the time is only counted when they reach inside their pocket to pay, but never counting the amount that is being added every day, week, or even a month. If the ones who smoked cigarettes would stop to figure what they spend in just one year alone, it should be enough to make them quit.
If you are a pack a day smoker, doing a little simple math can help you see that you are now spending almost $1700.00 a year. Looking at this from a yearly average instead of each week surely should surprise you. But this is not including all the nights out with friends or a weekend party where you could not believe how much you smoked, So your average may be more than you think.
Taking the money that is spent each year, times the years you have smoked cigarettes, will not surprise you, but maybe just make you steaming mad for what you have lost over the number of years you have smoked. This is a good way to help someone quit smoking by looking at the overall picture like this, but talk of more tax increase may cause you to be a little off on your figures though. So, if you want to know what it is you have lost already, you may have to wait on the next increase before making a final count on your donation to cigarettes.
