The different areas of the earth when heated by the sun give rise to air currents because of cooler and warmer bodies of air moving in different directions. Wind energy is also a non-polluting form of energy and has no effect on the greenhouse phenomenon. Neither does it generate any emission gases.
However, it would be unfair to say that there are only advantages. The wind turbines generate a certain amount of noise, and may pose a hazard for wildlife such as birds or bats. They may also look unsightly in certain landscapes. To combat these disadvantages, the best solution is to seek out appropriate compromises for locating the turbine.
