Experience the Amazing Natural Beauty and Culture of Argentina

Los Glaciers National Park

Los Glaciers National Park was founded in 1937 and is in the southwestern section of the Santa Cruz region of the Argentinean Patagonia. The 600,000-hectare area is an enjoyable destination all year round, and is known for its spectactular beauty and scientific value due to its endangered species and unique geography.

Perito Moreno is the most illustrious glacier and is located in the southern-most region of the park. The glacier is constantly changing, moving forward and backward, sometimes so much that it moves over the Lago Argentino forming a natural dam, which separates the lake into two distinct bodies of water. A trip to Perito Moreno will undoubtedly include a visit to El Calafate, the most proximal town and center of activities, information, and services for travellers.

Aside from the glaciers, two major lakes define the area. Lago Viedma blankets the northern region of the park, while Lago Argentino (the largest lake in Argentina) defines the southern region. Both lakes feed into the Santa Cruz River, which drains directly into the neighboring Atlantic Ocean.

Iguazu Falls

Iguazu Falls is one of the most spectacular wonders of nature in the world, and a huge contrast to the glaciers of the south. It is hot, humid, and buzzing with tropical wildlife. With over 250 separate cascades making up the Iguazu Waterfalls, it is trully magnificent, and makes Iguazu Falls known the world over.

Buenos Aires

In the middle of Argentina is Buenos Aires: the cosmopolitan gateway to South America, and in numerous ways, a very spectacular place. Buenos Aires is split into barrios, or neighborhoods, each of which contains a distinctive personality and spirit. With its broad boulevards, lovely architecture and rich culture, Buenos Aires has often been called the Paris of South America. And when you experience the food, the fashion, and the nightlife, you will quickly fall in love with this beautiful city and its people. If cities, food, culture (and shopping) are your thing, then Buenos Aires is not to be missed.

Spas in Argentina

The spas in Argentina are some of the most special in the world. Some spas are situated right at the top of natural mineral springs that flow straight from off the mountains. You won't find any seaweed-body-wrapping torture or chemical peels here, but just clean natural thermal waters with tons of healing properties for the skin and overall health. These spas are often situated in ecological preserves, which further embelishes the relaxation and rejuvenation that is important for the ultimate spa experience. Imagine having a tranquil aromatherapy massage overlooking grand Andean peaks after a brilliant day of hiking through the mountains. Some spas are conveniently located near volcanic activity, which naturally warms the water of the thermal baths and produces mud rich in minerals with natural healing properties.

Located all over Argentina, including Salta, Mendoza, and Patagonia, adding a few days stay at a luxury spa can easily be fit into your itinerary. Check out some of the best natural spring spas, relaxation spas, and wine spas in Argentina.

Ushuaia & Beagle Canal

Ushuaia is the most southernmost city in the world, and is so remote it used to be used as a pirson-home to Argentina’s most threatening criminals. Now the criminals are long gone and this incredible city, situated on the banks of the Beagle Canal (where Darwin sailed around South America in The Beagle), and its surroundings can be enjoyed all year round, from hiking, exploring, and sight-seeing in the summer, to cross-country skiing in the winter.

If you are feeling a little more bold, why not join a week-long tour of Antartica. Leaving from Ushuaia, this once in a lifetime trip includes whale-watching, a crossing of the dangerous Drake Passage, brilliant views, numerous shore trips, seals and penguins.
