If you decide to put some effort and give your home a natural learning atmosphere, your kid can gain knowledge of lots of valuable stuff in home conditions. There are countless options that you can implement in order to make the home a good learning environment. I’ve came up with a list of five options which are easy and fun for performing. Read the following list with examples and try some of them.
You could try to use empty boxes as playthings
Did you ever consider the option of using the empty cardboard boxes as a toy for your little one? If not, you need to take this idea into consideration. There are thousands of things that kids can do with cardboard boxes. For an example, kids can make trains, palaces, ships etc. Or they can perform easy activities such as painting the boxes with some color paper, crayons, pencils, stickers and markers. The best part of using boxes as playthings is that kids can grasp organizing and classifying abilities by categorizing their toys in the boxes.
Read books
It’s a proven belief that participating in a certain reading activity is necessary for intellectual improvement. So, exposing your kid to any reading activity is a must. If you want to make the reading practice more pleasurable for your little one, seek out for books appropriate to your kid’s age and hobby. Let’s say that your kid is mesmerized by the different national cultures. So, when looking for books for him try to search on that subject. If he is too little for reading books, buy or rent books with plenty of pictures. Don’t forget to keep the book’s material fresh by replacing the old and inappropriate books with new ones.
Play video games
There are many video games online that provide much more then simple entertaining to the kids. While playing games they are developing certain life skills such as logical thinking, decision making, problem-solving etc. Aside of that, if you choose to play a good character in some role-playing game (RPG), you can teach your kid to good behavior and ethical values. Try to be in the shoes of a pilot who is trying to save the world and teach your kid valuable life skills while having fun.
Create an art journal
It’s time to turn your kid’s notebook into an art journal. Bring your kid to the nearest park or garden and make him explore the surroundings. Let him feel the beautiful surroundings. Then, begin the learning lessons by writing the time and date on the top of the page. That way he will have better understanding of the concept of time and date. After that, make him to draw anything that he sees around him. This helps your kid to develop his observation skills, which are very important in the everyday life.
Listening to music and talking CD’s
Listening to music can be used as a learning tool for grasping different genres of music. It’s important to present different type of music to your kid, so he can pick the one that fits him best. Also, you can use music or talking CD’s to equip your kid’s mind with the knowledge of a certain foreign language. This technique is used by many schools that teach foreign languages.
