You might think that because you work from home you do not have to worry about what you wear. However, dressing for success is just as important when you own your own business and work from home and it is when you work in the corporate world.
Confidence is everything in the home based business industry. I did not say cockiness or arrogance but feeling good about yourself and how you look and feel is extremely important in gaining the trust of people you are working with. Thing about this. If you were being presented the same business by two different poeple.
Once by someone who seemed very knowledgeable but who was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt and flip flops and then by someone else who was dressed in a suit and perfectly shined shoes who would you rather be in business with? It should be a no brainer. You are always going to trust and want to be in business with sharp looking people who carry themselves with confidence.
Now I am not saying that you have to run out to the store and buy a bunch of new clothes or spend your money on things you can not afford. However, taking the time to make sure you look nice and polished before you step out the door will help your business big time.
You do not have to be going to meet a prospect or to a business meeting either. You can meet people in the grocery store, at the park or at a PTA meeting who would be perfect for your business and when you look nice you will have the extra confidence to walk up to them and tell them about your business or at least hand them a business card.
Also, if you are just staying at home and calling prospects over the phone you might be surprised to know that when you dress with confidence that confidence will come through over the phone. Again, obviously you do not have to put on a suit and tie just to call prospects that is after all the beauty of working from home. However, getting out of your robe or pajamas is critical if you want to feel and sound great over the phone.
Use these tips to build your business with more confidence. You do not have to pretend to be someone you are not. Just be the best version of yourself every day and your business will be all the better for it. It is always important to dress for success in MLM.
