How many times have you been watching a play or a musical presentation and wish that you were the one playing those instruments? Certainly playing musical instruments make every musician a cut above the rest. How much honor can any one person get if he/ she was playing a musical instrument that is not in the main stream? Something like world instruments like the oud?
When you were a kid, for sure your mom or your dad has enrolled you in a summer class that aims to teach you how to play a certain instrument; the piano, the guitar, the violin, the drums- almost all the usual instruments that you see and hear being played. It makes them happy to see you play these instruments and even gets you into the spotlight when they have friends visiting them. Sort of a show-off but then, it makes them really glad to see that their kid knows how to play certain instruments. It could be a status symbol of some sort.
Now that you are old enough, you still can find joy in learning to play musical instruments. Here are reasons why.
* Music plays as a venue for you to express your self. When you ask musicians they would tell you that they are playing to express themselves. Music is definitely an art. When you play, you can express your thoughts and feelings. This is one sure way you are able to communicate with people.
* Music does make you clever. This is not just because you get to read notes and musical symbols and make your own songs but because you get to enhance and sharpen your senses.
* You get the chance to socialize with other people. For some people, expressing themselves and communicating is very difficult, using the conventional speech method at least. Some people just cannot express themselves through words that is why they cannot get to interact with people often. Music draws people and when you are with people you get to be more interactive. Playing instruments will help people understand you better thus you get to have more friends.
* Music is the language of society. People love to hear music because they can seem to relate to it whatever their mood is; there is a song or a melody that can compliment that. Playing instruments like the oud would make people feel better.
* It is somehow a personal achievement. It is of course a good experience to know things that most people do not or to get to do things that others do not. Playing musical instruments would make you above the rest, as mentioned.
There are people who play instruments like the oud as these instruments help them learn a lot of things about other peoples culture and at the same time, not so many people know how to play these types of instrument which makes it rather more rewarding.
When people play instruments, they get to benefit a lot from it and that benefits will last a lifetime.
