The tax increase on tobacco products has hit all across the nation and the prices are quite scary to think about. Running down to the store to pick up a pack of smokes any more these days is going to cost you at least four bucks. What happened to the dollar section is what most smokers are screaming, just 6 years ago you could still buy a pack of cigarettes in the dollar area. Now with all the new taxes that have been added to a pack of cigarettes, it has become outrageous. Smokers that have a pack or more habit to support each day, are looking for a way to cut down on the purchasing more than a pack a day.
This is why over the last few years there has been a big increase in the sales of packaged loose tobacco products. It seemed as if there were a number of smokers going back to the old days when they still rolled their own cigarettes. Just over the last few years it was a bargain if you bought a bag of tobacco and some papers or even invested about ten dollars for a cigarette rolling machine. The quality of the
tobacco was supposed to better with less chemicals.
Smokers really showed signs of the changing of the times, when they started buying this type of tobacco instead of buying name brand cigarettes. After all, a smoker could buy a bag of this kind of tobacco that would last for a couple of weeks for a normal smoker. This was a true bargain for smokers only paying about six dollars for a bag and two dollars for cigarette filters in a box. This was saving some smokers that took this route to save money about twenty dollars every two weeks. But now with the tax increase on all tobacco products, a bag of the same product is now about seventeen dollars a bag.
Smokers do not get a break these anywhere. This has tripled the price of a bag of tobacco and the filters that you buy to roll your cigarettes. Smokers everywhere are trying to find cheaper alternatives to buying cigarettes and now even loose tobacco. Smoking in public is also a big problem, but what do you do when you have an addiction that you can not seem to quit? There are stop smoking aids out there if you can afford to buy those, but it is better to spend your money for that rather than continue spending far too much on cigarettes.
