Do you feel that the air you breathe where you live is really clean enough? Have you ever really looked at your sky line early in the morning? You might be surprised to see how brown the air looks. This is the smog and smoke from all of the cars and factories that put their emissions in our air supply. We end up breathing in this nasty stuff every day all day long. In some cities this problem is so bad that you might not be able to stand out in it for long periods of time without becoming short of breathe on a really bad day, but you can be exposed to toxins in some other places that would seem unlikely.
The terrible thing about some of these pollutants is that you might not even know that they are right in front of you. You might even live really too close some you are not aware of. There can be toxic fumes you might not even know exist and they can be from old mines that are not even used anymore. These old mines have left mounds of wastes that will now just look like mounds of dirt. You might be releasing them each time you and your buddies go bike riding. You might think that this area you like to go to is just right for this kind of riding.
These areas are many times in out of the way places for a reason. When you go disturbing this dirt with your bikes, you could be releasing these toxins into the air and you can breathe them in or get them on your clothes and body. These toxins can make you very sick if you happen to be in them very long or you a lot of you are driving through this dirt. The more of you that do this on a regular basis, the more toxins that are released. You also might be getting too close to the tunnels that might be just under the surface.
If you or a friend where to fall into one of these tunnels, you could be in a lot of trouble by getting hurt or even killed. You could cause a cave-in where you would have to bring in professionals to dig you out. Riding recreational vehicles is enjoyed by millions of people these days. There are those that love dirt bikes that have or do not have motors, three wheelers, and four wheelers. The best places to ride are through the woods or out in open terrain like a desert. Sometimes they ride in old pits that have high hills and these are the places that can be the most dangerous. Anywhere anyone rides these vehicles they should be aware of their surroundings and never ride in places that have been posted with no trespassing or warning signs. Toxins are by far the only dangers you can run into.
