Yard Signs Are Still Effective Marketing Tools

Yard signs continue to be great advertising tools. You can still see such signs being put up in countless lawns in the United States because they continue to be effective in conveying messages, endorsing political candidates, making a statement, and most importantly, selling products and services. In fact, the number of home sales closed by realtors is a testament that lawn signs work brilliantly as a marketing tool.

From the time when the very first front lawn sign has been erected and right up to the very present, people still continue to rely on the affordability and effectiveness of this advertising method. And in a period when many people are scrambling to sell or lease their properties, lawn signs can be helpful. So, shouldn't you be making your lawn signs too?

Marketing gurus will tell you that yard signs are in the same level as other guerrilla advertising tools that include car magnets, plastic signs, banners, and even tarpaulin billboards. To many people and home businesses, placing a yard sign actually can bring good results. In fact, apart from your own yard, you can also rent the lawns of your neighbors to promote your product or service. However, in order to get the most out of your lawn signs, you have to follow some rules in making them.

Unless you are advertising the lemonade stand for your kid, you should not resort to doing your own yard signs, especially if you do not have a single ounce of creativity in your blood. First, in order for a signboard to be effective, you need to carefully plan out its design. Be sure to make its overall appearance catchy to the eye. Naturally, no one will waste a minute of his time reading your sign if it looks dull, boring, or blends into the scenery.

Although the signs put up by kids in their lemonade stands can be endearing, such crude signboards will not work when it comes to promoting a more serious business like selling your home. So next, the colors used in yard signs should make people want to read what you have to say. It is important that you do not use so many different colors.

Lastly, when it comes to signs, size does matter. But just make sure that the size that you adhere to can still be practical for the front yard. Obviously, you can't put up a billboard-size sign on your lawn without approval from your local city officials or home owners association.
