Generally speaking, if you're about to use a San Francisco courier service for the first time you're going to be presented with several different options on how to contact them initially. If you found them in the yellow pages, you'll at least see a phone number, and likely a website as well. If you found them on the internet, you'll likely have the option of their phone number, an email address, and possibly a standardized web contact form to choose form as well. This is really more options than you generally need for the initial point of contact, and for people who haven't dealt with any courier company, let alone this specific one, for the first time, it can be confusing to know what is really the best way to go about getting in touch with one for the first time.
Generally speaking, if you haven't done business with this particular courier at any time in the past, the best thing to do is usually to give them a call directly. Have a look and see if they have more than one phone number listed, because if they have one that is for account holders you don't need to bother with that one, yet, and should instead look for a line for general questions or first time callers. The reason that this is better than email is that emails often get overlooked, and by calling them directly you can introduce yourself, let them know about what you're looking for and require from a courier, and they can let you know directly how they might fit into your plans. In addition, they can let you know about their rates and options, as well as how to set up an account with them if you should choose to do so. Email is great for quick requests, but for an initial point of contact, a phone call is still the best in most cases.
This all changes, of course, after you're an account holder. At that point, you'll have a wide variety of options, such as calling direct to your rep, emailing orders, or placing shipment requests online, and whichever one you use should simply be based on whatever is most convenient for you. Keep in mind though, that with any service your company uses it is always good advice to check in once and a while by phone, just to reestablish a human to human contact.
